Silence Game

“The ultimate control of movement is to create absolute immobility, the most obvious sign of which is ‘silence'” – Gettman. Makes sense, isn’t it? So I think this is the best exercise/game yang boleh dibuat oleh mana-mana sekolah atau rumah. “For most children, becoming still and silent suddenly opens up a whole new world of subtle, interesting sounds, which were first previously covered by the child’s own noises and motions.”

Note untuk diri sendiri: Panggil Aqeel dulu baru Hana.

The class needs to be calm to do this game. The Silence Game doesn’t work if the class is out of control. – Montessori Mom

I was reading about Silence Game when I realised it was suddenly quiet after they were being… chaos. Kakak was working on 100 board and Aqeel quietly watching her (it was a long 5 minutes before he made that shriek captured in video ?). And I introduced them the Silence Game. Mula-mula introduced asing-asing. Buat untuk Hana dulu. Pastu untuk Aqeel. Aqeel biasalah mana duk diam dan tak faham lagi arahan memula ni. Huhu. Ptg tadi cuba dua-dua. Aqeel ikut kakak. Honestly I didn’t expect for them to enjoy this game. Budak-budak ni mana boleh duk diam? I told them we’re going to play a game called Silence Game and pointed to the not so perfect silence sign. ? I told them to sit and closed their eyes. When I called their names, come to me quietly. Kakak chose a place to sit. I sat in one corner across them. I counted quietly to 10 then whispered kakak. She walked quietly to me and waited me to call Aqeel. I whispered Aqeel’s name quite a few times, rasanya sebab tak tahu kena datang jalan. Hehe. Did it a few times with me increasing the counting everytime, 15-20-25. And Hana wanted me to do it too. So I sat, closed my eyes, and started listening everything around me. I guess this is what they were hearing as well. They both whispered my name. After that they revised the game, after being called their name, they slowly walked and bear hug.
