My name is Nik Farah, a mother of four (4) children and currently residing in Selangor, Malaysia.

It all started when my first son was first home-schooled back in 2013. I then began searching for the appropriate approach in educating them until I fell in love and became passionate about the Montessori method.

Soon I realised that I was shifting my way of understanding childhood development far greater than I ever imagined, which later brought me all the way from Malaysia to Auckland in 2018 to deepen my understanding of the Montessori method. I attained AMI 3-6 Diploma in Melbourne, and completed all AMI Certificates (0-3, 3-6, 6-12 and 12-18 categories).

I set up the first Parent-Child Montessori playgroup in my home way back in 2019, mainly to benefit toddlers in their childhood development, not to mention the parents as well. I then founded Teratak Montessori, a Montessori Centre for 0-6 years old, in Shah Alam, Selangor. Kuliyah Montessori, the first AMI training centre in Malaysia was then established in 2023. 

I hope this humble blog that records our journey of homeschooling and applying the Montessori method reaches as many readers as possible so as to benefit the public as a whole.
