**Goals**

PK: Understands units money & recognise related symbols (RM, cents)

K-2: Understands RM1=10x10sen etc

K-2: Using concrete materials is able to count in units of money (eg counts 3 quarters as 75 cents).

K-3: Uses language associated with money to describe amounts and make comparisons (eg costly, affordable, expensive, inexpensive).

K-3: Makes comparison regarding amounts of money (eg this item costs $1.25 more than that item).

K-3: Estimates the cost of an item. Uses sources to determine actual cost. Compares estimate to actual value using comparison words (equal, less/greater than).

1-3: Applies knowledge of equivalancies to create a conversion table for units of money.

1-3: Applies knowledge of equivalancies and multiplication and division to convert between units of money (eg dimes to dollar, dollars to quarters).

1-3: Rounds to the nearest whole dollar.

1-3: Rounds to the nearest quarter.

1-3: Rounds to the nearest dime.

1-3: Rounds to the nearest nickel.

1-3: Is able to complete mathematical operations with money.

1-3: Is able to make change with money.

1-6: Solve story problems involving various units of currency (dollar, quarter, dimes, nickels and pennies). Uses dollar and cents symbol appropriately.

2-6: Applies knowledge of units of money in practical ways (eg calculates cost of grocery list, wish list)

5-6: Convert currencies
