Tengah baca berkenaan dengan Normalisation & Deviation untuk buat essay. Di bawah adalah nota-nota dari bacaan.
Montessori fokus character development pada 0-6. 0 bila character dan personaliti belum lagi terbentuk. 0-6 adalah period of creativeness. Roots of character di sini.
0-6: The small child has no sense of right and wrong, he lives outside our notions of morality. Kita tak panggil mereka bad or wicked tapi naughty. We are acknowledging.
6-12: The child begins to become conscious of right and wrong. This not only as regards his own actions, but also the actions of others. Problems of right and wrong are characteristic of this age, moral consciousness is being formed, and this leads to later to the social sense.
12-18: Love of country is born, the feeling of belonging to national group.
Walaupun setiap stage berbeza tapi setiap stage yang sebelumnya adalah asas untuk next stage. 0-6 lay foundation untuk 6-12, dan seterusnya lay foundation utk 12-18.
“To develop normally in the second period a person must have developed well in the first.”
Montessori further explained yang deviations of personality akan berlaku apabila the child has been injured, experience violence, obstacles. Jadi child’s character develop ikut obstacles yang dia dah lalui atau freedom yang ikut natural developmentnya.
If masa conception –> hamil —> kemudian masa lahir dan peringkat seterusnya scientifically treated, by 3 tahun kanak-kanak adalah model yang baik tapi takkan tercapai sebab dalam perjalanan kanak-kanak itu melalui conception hingga 3 tahun akan melalui banyak obstacles. Sebab tu, kanak-kanak umur 3 tahun tu berbeza satu sama lain sebab ia melalui pengalaman yang berbeza-beza dan pengalaman yang mereka lalui tu bergantung juga pada umur berapa. Contoh, obstacles yang dilalui after birth less severe, masih lagi senang untuk cure, obstacles masa hamil susah, obstacle masa conception makin susah.
If nak baiki defect masa 0-3, boleh baiki semasa 3-6 sebab masih mereka masih lagi perfecting diri mereka.
If defects during 0-3 tidak ditreat, not only defect ni remain dalam diri mereka tapi juga akan jadi worse by 6. Kenapa? Defects 0-3 + defects 3-6 yang mana akan mempengaruhi mereka pada next stage iaitu 6-12 tahun yang mana masa ni dalam diri mereka tengah develop right and wrong. So, bayangkan.
